Hi Melissa, I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to comment, I love reading your posts, they are chock full of your enthusiasm for every kind of creature from the smallest bug to lambs! I’m so pleased you got to see them, and thank you so much for the mention, much appreciated.
Hi Dave! Thanks so much for your comment, I’m always happy to hear from you. I too am a little behind on my reading and commenting this week… I’m sure I’ve got one of yours to look forward to reading this weekend.
Such a sight, curtain call today. Jack Frost has bought his ticket, tonight will be his night Melissa. By dawns first light Maple will bow her browns onto the lawn, becoming her perfect comforter on our lawn.
It’s popped up in my feed, but I can’t click on the photos to see them properly - when I do it takes me into the comments on my post - and the images don’t show there. How frustrating…
I wonder if you create a brand new note with it, and then tag me in it - that should work? Like you did with the swallows?
Beautiful! That's wonderful that you got to visit the lambs. And dandelions are beautiful indeed! In some areas here, they have already gone to seed. There are some meadows completely full of little white spheres.
Yes, nature is changing so rapidly now, there is really something new every day! I don't have a garden, but I have noticed the swifts arriving, the first hornets, huge numbers of tadpoles, and just the flowers on the lawns seemingly growing by 30 cm over night.
I know exactly what you mean about there being new sights every day, and it being difficult to keep up! The transition from winter to spring seemed particularly fast this year with all the hot sunny weather we had.
I too am seeing dandelions in profusion everywhere - including in my lawn. We do mow the lawn, but not short, and dandelions, daisies, clover and many others flower just fine. I have seen sparrows, goldfinches and woodpigeons pecking at the dandelion flowers, and well as loads of bees and other insects visiting. My neighbour was dropping not so subtle hints about the dandelions being a nuisance and difficult to get rid of - but mine are definitely staying!
Haha, yes, I know my neighbour is most likely unimpressed with my wilderness of a garden - weeds galore - where his is pristine green lawns. But I think it’s so much prettier filled with dandelions and daisies.
A wonderful post full of spring loveliness. Your words, photos and videos capture the essence of the season beautifully. Thank you for the generous mention of my dandelion post too. Looking forward to seeing what May will bring.
So much activity! Spring is funny that way. Winter feels so long and tends to linger. Spring gives subtle hints here and there and all of a sudden, Spring is everywhere. I like the dandelion video and the colours of green and yellow. Also, looking forward to updates on the wren and the Red Fox, Melissa. Thank you for sharing.
Love how much you notice! 😊
Thanks Hayley :-)
Beautiful dandelions indeed! I love your comparison of them with male lions 🌻
Thanks Kate 🙏🌿

Audra and I listened to this while working today, and she said it was like therapy. Such beautiful writing. <3
This is officially the highest compliment I could receive on my writing. Thank you so much, that’s totally made my day!
I think Wrens are fairly outgoing for such a small bird! They're also loud! It's just their size and colour makes them very hard to spot
Yes you’re right - it always surprises me when I hear one just how loud they are!!
A lovely post as always Melissa.
Thanks Linda. I have news for you… I will pop it in my notes now!
A wonderful Spring list! I love rabbits and wrens, I feel they are opposite in characters. The wren being so loud in song and the rabbit so timid x
Thanks Clare, that’s so true! I feel like there’s a story in there somewhere… x
Out of context but beautiful just now Japanese Maple dressed up for a party in our garden,,could not help showing you
Did you share a photo of this? It sounds lovely.

Here she is Melissa
Oh it's not showing up in my comments feed for some reason :-(
If you post it to notes, then you can tag me in it using the @ symbol.
Japanese Maple yet???

My error, cold hands, brain too.
Thanks, tagging, learning!!!
Tortoise she'll..
Lovely post!
We used to have a pet rabbit that loved to eat dandelions!
Thanks Juliet.
Oh I bet that was extremely cute to see!!
She was a very cute rabbit!

Thank you Hannah, how lovely - tadpoles are one thing I don’t have here. I’d love to see them!
I give you some tadpoles if I get a lamb in return ;)
Sounds like a fair exchange! 😆

Dandelions. A whole book wrote about them and there are about 200 different kinds in Britain and Ireland.
I didn’t know that! I'll have to learn more about them… I thought there was only one!!

Thankyou Daisy, it was my pleasure to share your work. I’m glad you enjoyed the post too. May is going to be amazing, I can feel it! 😍🌿
Me too 🙏🦋😊
What a wonderful recap of April, Melissa! It was wonderful waking up to.
Aww thanks Aria, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 🙏🌿😊

Thanks Neil. The start of May has already been crazy busy too for bird sightings. This is fast becoming my favourite time of year!
